Reviews coming in

I’m working on my sales pitch. Promoting myself is still very new to me, but as an Indie writer now, it needs to be done as no one else is going to do it for me- it’s a blessing and a curse!

Reviews for the Island of Stone are coming in, and they’re positive! People seem to enjoy the various plot twists, the mystery, and the descriptive writing style of my story. If you haven’t had a chance to grab a copy, come check out why others are offering such kind words! At just $2.99, it’s a cost-effective way to give you a few hours of entertainment, but as others have mentioned, it is a quick and fast-paced read, so I promise you won’t get bored. Island of Stone is a win/win. You can’t go to the movies during this time of isolation, the book is less than half the price of a movie ticket, and it will provide you several hours of thrills! Grab a copy here and tell me what you think.

If you’ve already read the Island of Stone (even if just some), please take a moment and add a quick Amazon review! At five reviews above four stars, it opens up some exciting promotional avenues for me, which would be helpful. I’m almost there! Also, more reviews mean more of a push in Amazon’s algorithm. You might be asking yourself, only 3 reviews? Why so few Scott? Well, estimates are that on average you receive one review for every 200 orders. So actually, I am ahead of the curve. Lastly, if you would like to provide me with more detailed criticism, feel free to comment below, on Facebook, or here. I would love to hear from all of you, even if just to say hello.

Now, an update on the Slaying of the Bull (book 1 in the Tocharian Gospel Series). It is humming along since I finished the story. I’m adding extra details throughout, and sprinkling hints for what’s to come in the series. It looks like all told it will be at a healthy 120,000 words. About 1/3 Longer than the Island of Stone, but well within the 150,000-word max that you commonly find in Historical Fiction. The story has some good heft to it without becoming bogged down. If you are interested in joining my launch squad and getting a sneak peak of this epic journey, drop me a line using the methods mentioned above, and I will get you some pages very soon.

Cheers!

Scott Austin Tirrell loves dark speculative fiction, conjuring isolated worlds where ancient mysteries, the raw power of nature, and the paranormal entwine. His work is steeped in the arcane, drawing from the forgotten corners of history and the unsettling grasp of the supernatural. With a style shaped by Clive Barker, Frank Herbert, and Joe Abercrombie, he crafts narratives that pull ordinary, flawed souls into the extraordinary, where reality frays, shadows lengthen, and the unknown whispers from the void. He has self-published eight books, with Koen set to come out in 2025 under Grendel Press. Residing in Boston with his wife, he draws inspiration from the region’s haunted past and spectral folklore. Scott invites readers to step beyond the veil and into his worlds, where every tale descends into the deeper, darker truths of the human condition.
