Gift for mom?

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there! If you’ve forgotten this special day, you know what would be an excellent gift for mom? Hours of enjoyment reading the Island of Stone available in both Kindle and Paperback 🙂 !

I’ve finished the final read-through of the Slaying of the Bull (book 1 of the Tocharian Gospels series). I think I will add one more chapter to tie up some loose ends, and then the story will be complete. I’ve already started the editing process, and I’m currently on chapter five. Its a beefy book and will probably take me a few days to get through (final word count should be about 125,000). Then it’s off to a valued and very well-read friend for feedback. While that is happening, I will start formatting the book for kindle and paperback (as edits can be added easily before pushing the publish button). I’ve already tweaked the cover, and that is ready to go. It’s super exciting. Things are coming together. Soon, I will have more than one title up, and that should make a difference. I’ve also learned a great deal from my first experience that will hopefully energize the movement of this new book.

The Island of Stone received its 5th positive review yesterday, which is also exciting. It opens up some promotion avenues that requires at least 5 reviews greater than 4 stars. If you’ve read the novel, and got some entertainment from it, be sure to join this superstar group and leave a quick review!

Cheers!

Scott Austin Tirrell loves dark speculative fiction, conjuring isolated worlds where ancient mysteries, the raw power of nature, and the paranormal entwine. His work is steeped in the arcane, drawing from the forgotten corners of history and the unsettling grasp of the supernatural. With a style shaped by Clive Barker, Frank Herbert, and Joe Abercrombie, he crafts narratives that pull ordinary, flawed souls into the extraordinary, where reality frays, shadows lengthen, and the unknown whispers from the void. He has self-published eight books, with Koen set to come out in 2025 under Grendel Press. Residing in Boston with his wife, he draws inspiration from the region’s haunted past and spectral folklore. Scott invites readers to step beyond the veil and into his worlds, where every tale descends into the deeper, darker truths of the human condition.
