The Monuments of Stone arise!

It’s official. Fans of the Island of Stone rejoice! I started writing the Desert of Stone, Book 2 of the Monuments of Stone series last night! I only put down several pages, but just beginning a new book opens the door to the muse. The juices are flowing, and I’ll be well on my way on this new journey soon. It’s exciting and scary at once. From bitter experience, the road ahead is long and full of strife, but the rewards will hopefully be great. It’s time to set a writing schedule and write. At 2,000 words a day, it should only take about two months to finish. Let’s keep the fingers crossed!

I spent the morning putting together a book trailer for The Slaying of the Bull (book 1 of the Tocharian Gospels Series). Tomorrow, I will make one for the Island of Stone. I’m learning a great deal about media production, and although I’m far from an expert, my efforts in the publishing world are not fruitless. It’s quite fun, and the product isn’t too bad for my first try. Check it out on my Youtube channel, here! I may not become a successful author, but at least I’m improving myself on this journey.

A few days ago I posted some images, here, for those that need a bit of visual aid while reading The Slaying of the Bull. Many of the events, locations, and people are based on real history and I want to be sure I convey that. I will post more as I think of them.

But now, it’s time to wash some windows and get some house projects done. If I have the time, I will post some pictures of my backyard garden efforts. After losing a 100-year-old maple last fall, the yard was pretty devastated, and it is only now coming back to life. As they say, idleness is the root of all evil!

Cheers!

Scott Austin Tirrell loves dark speculative fiction, conjuring isolated worlds where ancient mysteries, the raw power of nature, and the paranormal entwine. His work is steeped in the arcane, drawing from the forgotten corners of history and the unsettling grasp of the supernatural. With a style shaped by Clive Barker, Frank Herbert, and Joe Abercrombie, he crafts narratives that pull ordinary, flawed souls into the extraordinary, where reality frays, shadows lengthen, and the unknown whispers from the void. He has self-published eight books, with Koen set to come out in 2025 under Grendel Press. Residing in Boston with his wife, he draws inspiration from the region’s haunted past and spectral folklore. Scott invites readers to step beyond the veil and into his worlds, where every tale descends into the deeper, darker truths of the human condition.
