Final push to the deadline

We’ll be returning to our regular scheduled programming soon with the continuation of part 3 of my in-laws’ first adventure to the US mini-series (Part 1 and Part 2). I haven’t forgotten the My Life in China Series and still have some stories to tell.

As many of you know, I’m in editing overdrive for the Dawn of the Lightbearer. I’ve enabled pre-order on Amazon this time as an experiment (and a kick in the pants to get moving) and thus must have the manuscript up and ready to go by June 29th for the the July 2nd release. I should make it, but it does add some added pressure and I will feel much more comfortable focusing on other projects once the Dawn of the Lightbearer is done.

I don’t think I will do pre-order again, at least not for a while. It’s nice to send out an Amazon link with my promotion material, but I guess I still don’t have a readership interested in pre-ordering an un-reviewed book. I’m hoping that it does create a little hype for the release, but we’ll see. I try to stay positive. Hell, if Dawn of the Lightbearer does well and people are really interested in continuing the saga, I may reconsider for the second part of the series. You never know when a book will strike the right cord. Maybe this is the one!

In any event, Dawn of the Lightbearer, book one of the Absolution of the Morning Star series is coming in just over a month! If you are interested in following my progress, I’m posting updates on the my main Absolution of the Morning Star page- here.

Cheers!

Scott Austin Tirrell loves dark speculative fiction, conjuring isolated worlds where ancient mysteries, the raw power of nature, and the paranormal entwine. His work is steeped in the arcane, drawing from the forgotten corners of history and the unsettling grasp of the supernatural. With a style shaped by Clive Barker, Frank Herbert, and Joe Abercrombie, he crafts narratives that pull ordinary, flawed souls into the extraordinary, where reality frays, shadows lengthen, and the unknown whispers from the void. He has self-published eight books, with Koen set to come out in 2025 under Grendel Press. Residing in Boston with his wife, he draws inspiration from the region’s haunted past and spectral folklore. Scott invites readers to step beyond the veil and into his worlds, where every tale descends into the deeper, darker truths of the human condition.
