Noonday in the North, book three of my Absolution of the Morning Star series, is now available for pre-order! Its actual release date is January 31st! I’m finishing the final readthrough and will continue with the last stage of my editing soon after. This step shouldn’t take more than a few weeks, but I thought it best to give myself a little buffer for unforeseen problems. When I released book two, The Morning Son, I set the release date a bit soon and had to rush it out, which wasn’t ideal.
Noonday in the North is about a month behind schedule, which is not too bad considering the year I’ve had. I had hoped to get it out before the holidays, but better late than never. As mentioned here, we spent Christmas in Munich this year, which delayed things some. I also got a new job, which significantly reduced my writing time.
The title Noonday in the North stems from the notion of the Noonday demon or the personification of a state of listlessness or not being concerned with one’s position or condition in the world. It embodies Lucardia and its caviler approach to the Nephilim’s growing shadow looming over the land. Erikson Gray continues his journey from Dis to the seat of his maternal grandfather in Thornhold, far to the North of Lucardia. He hopes to get answers and perhaps some allies in his struggle. The empire of Vesper the Uniter is beginning to crumble as the man at its center flounders into old age, and the mysterious Followers of Eosphorus and a few other exciting players step from the shadows to make their presence known during this time of weakness.
Being the series’ midway point, Noonday in the North is an important book. It is not the calm before the storm but rather the static unease with a few thunder rumbles before all hell breaks loose. I hope you enjoy it!
Cheers!

Congratulations on your third volume! Although I’ve never written a book, I realize how much time, talent and effort this takes. So kudos to you as you continue on your writing journey.
