Noonday in the North is here!

I hoped to get this message out earlier. I should have planned the launch of a book on a weekend and not a workday at the beginning of a semester in higher education. Don’t worry. Lesson learned, and I’ve made a note for the future. I’m happy (ecstatic) to announce that all versions of Noonday in the North, book 3 of my Absolution of the Morning Star series, are now available (ebook, kindle unlimited, paperback, and hardcover)!

To help me celebrate, Dawn of the Lightbearer (book 1) is just $0.99 until February 5th!

Also, I just realized that Saturday is the first anniversary of the release of The Mourning Son (book 2). Wow, a year flies by. I can’t let that go uncelebrated, so for this weekend only (the afternoon of 2/3 to the morning of 2/6), the ebook version will be just $0.99 as well. That’s two books for less than the typical price of one. Don’t miss out!

Scott Austin Tirrell loves dark speculative fiction, conjuring isolated worlds where ancient mysteries, the raw power of nature, and the paranormal entwine. His work is steeped in the arcane, drawing from the forgotten corners of history and the unsettling grasp of the supernatural. With a style shaped by Clive Barker, Frank Herbert, and Joe Abercrombie, he crafts narratives that pull ordinary, flawed souls into the extraordinary, where reality frays, shadows lengthen, and the unknown whispers from the void. He has self-published eight books, with Koen set to come out in 2025 under Grendel Press. Residing in Boston with his wife, he draws inspiration from the region’s haunted past and spectral folklore. Scott invites readers to step beyond the veil and into his worlds, where every tale descends into the deeper, darker truths of the human condition.

  1. Congrats Scott!! You are amazing in the fact you can publish another book, of this volume, while working full time. Another book for our collection. Good job.
