Open for Feedback

The feedback store is open and ready for business, even during this time of social distancing! If you’ve read the Island of Stone (or are reading it now), please let me know what you think, even if you hate it. I know that people are reading the book, but I have heard very little feedback (both positive or negative). I know that many understand that I’ve invested a lot of time, energy, and soul in my work and might be afraid to offer criticism, but I need this to improve as a writer (even if it hurts). If you have nothing but good things to say, that is awesome, and it will encourage me on my journey. It may even help me get my work to more readers (if you leave an Amazon review or something on Goodreads). You can leave comments or send me a message on my new Facebook author page, email me, or leave a comment here. If it is something small, I can make a change and re-upload, thereby improving the book for future readers. If it is something major, I can take it to heart and try to improve on future works.

I’m still trucking along with the Slaying of the Bull. As mentioned yesterday, I am smoothing out a rushed ending. I added two new chapters, and I’ve planned to add 2 to 3 more. These additions will finally give the Bull the end it deserves and helps transition to the next book in the series. As Book 2 of the Tocharian Gospels series takes place more than 750 years later (in modern time), you can imagine that transition will be a bit of a challenge, but I’ve drafted a plan, and I am up for this challenge! If anything, it will make this series unique.

Cheers!

Scott Austin Tirrell loves dark speculative fiction, conjuring isolated worlds where ancient mysteries, the raw power of nature, and the paranormal entwine. His work is steeped in the arcane, drawing from the forgotten corners of history and the unsettling grasp of the supernatural. With a style shaped by Clive Barker, Frank Herbert, and Joe Abercrombie, he crafts narratives that pull ordinary, flawed souls into the extraordinary, where reality frays, shadows lengthen, and the unknown whispers from the void. He has self-published eight books, with Koen set to come out in 2025 under Grendel Press. Residing in Boston with his wife, he draws inspiration from the region’s haunted past and spectral folklore. Scott invites readers to step beyond the veil and into his worlds, where every tale descends into the deeper, darker truths of the human condition.
