Any issues?

Hi all, I hope you are still well and ok in your isolation. This post will be quick as it is a busy work day. I just wanted to do an Amazon service check. I’ve been having some Amazon issues related to COVID-19, so any help you can provide would be much appreciated. As soon as the Island of Stone was published, I ordered some author copies to check the quality and make sure the formatting looks ok. I place the order back on April 3rd and have yet to receive them. They were supposed to arrive last weekend. I contacted Amazon and after being tossed around to 4 different people, I found out there were some issues with the printer, and they couldn’t help me. They suggested that I cancel and reorder. This means I, the author of the book, has still not physically seen the Island of Stone and will not see it until May. This is frustrating to say the least.

More importantly, this makes me extremely worried that potential readers are also facing difficulty or receiving a sub-par product. Its hard enough to build a readership without those potential readers having a bad shopping experience. If you’ve ordered a paperback version and still haven’t received it, please let me know. If you had any difficulty obtaining an ebook version or left reviews, but they are not showing up, etc., let me know too. If you have any issues with the book or Amazon service concerning the book, also let me know. You can reach out through my Facebook page, leave a comment below, or send me a message here. I am putting a lot of time and effort into promoting the Island of Stone, but if it is not getting out there or people are hitting any roadblocks, it would be great to know. It also means I may need to find a new home for my future work like part 1 of the Tocharian Gospels series, Slaying of the Bull, which is moving along quickly and will be ready to publish soon (just two more chapters to write). Thanks, and stay well!

Cheers!

Scott Austin Tirrell writes dark fantasy because apparently the real world doesn't contain enough dead people, ruined faiths, and gods with questionable motives. Most of his stories take place in Lucardia, a world with a long memory and a rather serious problem with its dead. Its people have been taught many comforting things about history, religion, power, and what happens when the reaper’s sickle swings. Unfortunately, much of it is wrong. Scott is less interested in heroes than in complicated people who stumble into mysteries they probably should have left alone—and then have to live with what they find. When he isn’t writing, Scott wanders old cemeteries in search of character names and thinks about fictional people as though they have personally inconvenienced him. He lives near Boston with his wife and maintains a healthy distrust of ravens.
