Quick update and heartfelt blessings

Just a quick update this week. Don’t worry; I will continue with the last installment of my camping saga shortly.

Destiny of the Daystar, book four of my Absolution of the Morning Star series, is in its sixth chapter and is currently at 14,238 words. Initially, it was moving a little slowly, but we are progressing at a good clip now, and I am consistently reaching my thousand words a day. I feel a bit of a rush. It took a good portion of a year to write Koen, the series’ stand-alone prequel, and I’m feeling pressure from those who want to know what will happen to Erik after the events of Noonday in the North. I assure you it is coming, and it will be great. Noonday in the North marked a turning point for Erik and his allies, and soon, things will get very interesting.

Trying to sell Koen is on hold until after the holidays. I think it will have a better chance of garnering some attention after the distractions of the festive season- I also don’t want it to ruin my mood getting all those rejections. The query letter template is written, and I’ve finished my synopsis. On January 1, it goes out to my first batch of researched agents. According to my wife, my Chinese horoscope says this will be my lucky year. I am not superstitious, but I’ll take what I can.

Everyone stay safe as we move into the holidays. I hope they are filled with miracles and magic! If you’re looking for a gift for that special someone who likes dark epic fantasy, check out the Absolution of the Morning Star series! A bobble lasts a moment- a good story lasts a lifetime.

Cheers!

Scott Austin Tirrell loves dark speculative fiction, conjuring isolated worlds where ancient mysteries, the raw power of nature, and the paranormal entwine. His work is steeped in the arcane, drawing from the forgotten corners of history and the unsettling grasp of the supernatural. With a style shaped by Clive Barker, Frank Herbert, and Joe Abercrombie, he crafts narratives that pull ordinary, flawed souls into the extraordinary, where reality frays, shadows lengthen, and the unknown whispers from the void. He has self-published eight books, with Koen set to come out in 2025 under Grendel Press. Residing in Boston with his wife, he draws inspiration from the region’s haunted past and spectral folklore. Scott invites readers to step beyond the veil and into his worlds, where every tale descends into the deeper, darker truths of the human condition.
