Here we go again! Another book shields the light from its eyes as it steps from the shadows of my mind into the world. The ebook for Jezelle: Thief of Forks is now available for pre-order. It will release on April 4, 2026. This will be my tenth published work.
I’m also taking this time to reveal the cover, as seen above. It is a departure from the style of my prior covers. Let me know what you think!
As with all novels, Jezelle has been a long road from conception to release. I don’t remember exactly when I started dreaming up this story, but I saw the first scene of this book very vividly and knew that Jezelle’s origin story would be as tragic as it was marvelous. It all started with a short dialogue section in Dawn of the Lightbearer. Erikson Gray and Jezelle have an intimate conversation where Jezelle talks a little about her childhood. I wanted it to be terrible, so I picked the worst origin story I could think of. At the time, it was just a few words on the page, but the more I thought about it, the more a story that needed to be told blossomed. A seven-year-old girl, discarded by her father on the steps of a brothel, what could be more horrible?
At the time, I didn’t realize how relevant that horror would become, but young girls having their agency stolen from them is very much at the forefront of our minds. That is why this story is so important. It is more than a dark fantasy; it is a tale of a girl with everything taken from her, deciding to steal back her choice–her forks–and rise to greatness. It is an intense, dark, gritty, and fulfilling book. One that pushes the boundaries, but for good reason.
A quick note about my chosen release date. It is not uncommon for people to gravitate toward a particular number. Perhaps it is a digit that keeps appearing in their lives. For some, it is a lucky number, for others an eerie reminder or an omen. For my wife, her number is 617. For me, it is 444. When I wake at night to go to the bathroom, guess what time is often on the clock? For my wife, seeing 617 freaks her out, but for me, 444 is a message. The last four digits of my beloved grandmother’s phone number was 4444. As a child, calling that number and hearing her voice is such a happy memory. I like to think that seeing fours all the time is my grandmother trying to send me messages. So, when looking at the calendar to pick a practical release date, 4/4 seemed right. I’m not a superstitious fellow, but I could use all the help I can get!
I’m very proud of this book, and I can’t wait to share it with you. As always, my offer stands: if you’re interested in an early peek (and want a free ebook) in exchange for an honest review at release, send me a message here.
Cheers!

Angel number 444: “Spiritually, 444 is a sign of divine protection… a message from guardian angels, letting you know they’re nearby, offering guidance and support. This number often appears during times of doubt or transition, serving as a reminder that you’re not alone. It’s a call to trust your intuition and align with your higher purpose.” https://wisdomofthespirit.com/444-angel-number/
